He began his career experimenting with abstraction after World War II, debuting his abstract works at the Salon d’Automne in 1944. Supported by dealer Jeanne Bucher and critic Wilhelm Uhde, Deyrolle became associated with avant-garde movements and exhibited at prestigious venues like Galerie Denise René and international exhibitions such as the São Paulo Biennale and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. His work was widely recognized in both France and abroad for its innovative approach to geometric abstraction
